Frederick “Rick” Herbert Rees

April 23, 1954 - November 8, 2019

Frederick “Rick” Herbert Rees, age 65, of New Castle, DE, passed away at his home on Friday, November 8, 2019.

Born in Wilmington, DE on April 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Scott Wiles Rees, Jr. and Martha Adele (Drendall) Rees.  He graduated from William Penn High School in 1972.  Following graduation, Rick earned his Associates degree in Communications.  He worked at DuPont Chamber Works, first as an operator then a training coordinator and finally retiring after 43 years as an area manager.

He was a beloved Philadelphia Eagles fan. As an avid fan, he and his brother Scotty, attended Superbowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, FL and Rick was thrilled when they won Super Bowl LII.  He loved being with his wife and dogs, Max and Junie.  In his spare time, he practiced and taught 23 years in Kempo Karate where he was a 4th degree black belt.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Scott W. Rees, Jr.  He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Sharon DonnaKay Rees of New Castle; daughters, Kathy Chrisbacher, her husband Peter of Kennett Square and Stephanie Rees and Jim Rice of New Castle; grandchildren, Kandice, Randy Jr. and Shannon Dill and Claire Chrisbacher; brother, Christopher Rees; and nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately.
