Fredricka Hildgrad (Robinson) Crossan

Fredricka Hildgrad (Robinson) Crossan, 80, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, September 8, 2021.

 Born in West Grove, PA on December 5, 1940, Fredricka was a daughter of the late Wensol J. and Versa R. (Norris) Robinson. She worked in the floral industry for many years at Walker’s florist from the late 1970s until her retirement in the early 2000s.

Fredricka was very talented and known for making beautiful arrangements, plant baskets, dish gardens, wreaths, and Christmas tree toppers. She learned all about the different plants and how to properly care for them. Fredricka also learned how to make perfect bows for arrangements! In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, growing, and harvesting fresh vegetables. Fredricka was happy to be snapping green beans or shelling peas on a warm summer day.

Her love of the great outdoors led to a passion for camping. Her children have fond memories of spending most weekends camping together as a family. Fredricka was also a talented seamstress, with impressive skills in making clothing for her children and amazing Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren. Most of all, she loved her family and any time spent with them- especially with her 10 grandchildren!

In addition to her parents, Fredricka was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Crossan, Sr.; son, Ralph H. Crossan, Jr.; siblings, James Robinson, Sr., Paul Robinson, and Betty Reynolds; and grandson, Christopher McMullen. She is survived by her children, Cecil Crossan (Denise) of Newark, Malissa McMullen (Thomas) of Newark, Kimberly Wolfe (Timothy) of Oxford, PA, and Fredrick Crossan of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Michelle Williams (Jason), Sean Crossan, Brianna McMullen, Robert McMullen, Heather Wolfe, Dalton Wolfe, Logan Wolfe, Carenna Richardson, and Colton Crossan; great-grandchildren, Julian Williams, Jacob Williams, and Jaelyn Fayette; siblings, Clarence Robinson (Emma) of Middletown, Virginia Matthews (Harry) of Elkton, MD, and Claude Robinson (Bernadette) of Dover.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am, on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 525 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 am. Face masks will be required for all those in attendance. Interment will follow at Kemblesville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1772 New London Road, Kemblesville, PA 19347.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fredricka’s memory to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, at the address listed above.
