George A. McMahon IV

March 30, 1956 - January 10, 2018

George A. Newt McMahon IV, age 61, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

Born in Wilmington on March 30, 1956, he was a son of the late George A. McMahon III and Shirley (Chaffinch) Burris.  He spent his career as a plumber/fitter with the Plumber and Pipe fitters Local 74 union.

George loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and boating.  He will be remembered as a jokester.  His hobbies included billiards and listening to music.

He is survived by his daughter, Allison McMahon (Stephen Mullen) of Cecilton, MD; son, George A. McMahon V (Nickie White) of Elkton, MD; brother, Mark McMahon (Kay); sister, Tammy McMahon (Rich); grandchildren, Payton, Maddie and Christian; good friend, Gary Baer; and former wife, Jody Baer.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral  Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 am.  Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George’s memory to the Salvation Army, 400 N. Orange St, Wilmington, DE 19801.

You were loved by many and left us far too soon my friend. May you rest in peace and one day when I see you again just be ready with your Q stick to rack em up pal. Love you Georgie!
