George R. Romain, Jr., age 84, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 4, 2021.

Born in Trinidad on November 19, 1936, he was a son of the late Ivy (Haynes) and George R. Romain, Sr. George made his career with Hercules, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

He had a love for photography and jazz music.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sons, Nigel and Larry Romain and sisters, Myrle, Barbara, Vere, Lenore, and Sandy Romain. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Beverly (Walker) Romain; step-daughters, Lisa and Tracey Dixon; step-grandson, Cameron Dixon; sisters, Ziska Romain-Hill and Madge Velma Romain; brother, Darryl Romain; and niece, Beverly Romain-Greene, his step-niece Keisha Marzan who assisted in his care, and many other in-laws and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, 719 N. Shipley Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in George’s memory may be made to Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew & Matthew at the address listed above.
