Mr. George T. Wilfong, Sr., age 82, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Mr. Wilfong was born in Wilmington on November 7, 1930, son of the late William F. Wilfong and Clara Durham Wilfong. He made his career as a master pipewelder with Union Local #74 until his retirement. An avid archer for many years, he was a longtime member of the Penn Del Archers Club. He also enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret E. “Peggy” Pike Wilfong, in 2008, and a son, George T. Wilfong, Jr. in 2009. He is survived by his son, Edward E. Wilfong of New Castle; brother, Norman L. Wilfong of Milford; and granddaughter, Lacy Wilfong of New Castle.
Funeral services will be held privately.
