Georgiana “Georgie” Williams

November 8, 1961 - February 24, 2022

Georgiana “Georgie” Williams, age 60, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Born in Newark, DE on November 8, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Waldemar W. Poppe, Sr.  and Catherine (Walling) Boyer. Georgie worked as a health care provider at Keystone Health Services in Newark. She always enjoyed working in the field of providing care to children and adults with disabilities.

Active in her community, Georgie was a past Girl Scout leader as well as a past member of the Delaware City Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Earlier in life, she enjoyed cheering on the fire companies at the Firemen Softball League games and keeping the scorebooks. She also loved vacationing in Ocean City with friends, which she called her “happy place”. But more than anything, Georgie loved spending time with her precious granddaughter, Aria, who was the apple of her eye.

In addition to her parents, Georgie was preceded in death by her step father, John Boyer. She is survived by her loving daughter, Anna Botterill (Randolph); granddaughter, Aria Botterill; brother, Wally Poppe (Tammy); niece, Katie Hill (Mark); nephew, Will Poppe (Victoria); and best friend, Paul Williams (Amy).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
