Geraldine Brumbaugh McWilliams

Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” McWilliams of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Christiana Hospital. She was 91.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. McWilliams was born in Wilmington on August 7, 1921, daughter of the late William Brumbaugh, Sr. and Ida Warner Brumbaugh. She was employed with the Diamond State Telephone Company and at the Emily Bissell Hospital, retiring in 1998 after 21 years. She was an avid card and bingo player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe L. McWilliams, Sr.; brother, William Brumbaugh, Jr.; sister, Carole M. Brumbaugh; and daughter, Joyce L. Clark. She is survived by her devoted sons, Joe McWilliams and wife Patricia of Indiana, and John McWilliams and wife Gladys of Delaware; son-in-law, John Clark; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the wonderful care given to Mrs. McWilliams by the staff at Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and at Christiana Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 21st, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
