Grace Baker Austin

Mrs. Grace Baker Austin, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the Methodist Country House in Wilmington, DE.
Mrs. Austin was born on December 1, 1915 in Ft. Mott, NJ, daughter of the late Harrison T. and Emma Baker. Prior to moving to the Methodist Country House, she resided in Llangollen Estates in New Castle and in Delaware City.
A lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Delaware City, she joined Westminster Presbyterian Church when she moved to the Country House.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Austin, Sr., her brother, Walter Baker, and her sisters, Mary Baker Maxwell and Gertrude Baker Padley. She is survived by her son and her daughter-in-law, William A. and Rosemarie Austin of Wilmington; grandson, David M. Painter of North East, MD; and nieces, Shirley Baker Crompton and her husband John of Middletown, and Jane Baker Zellers of Weatherford, TX.
Burial will be held privately at St. Georges Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Austin’s memory to a favorite charity.
