Grace E. Duncan, age 78, of Bear, DE, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilmington, DE on April 8, 1940, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Vera Mae (Mercer) Koelig.

Grace enjoyed yard sales, auctions and selling on eBay. Her home was well cared for and decorated to perfection with the beautiful antiques she found. In her spare time, Grace enjoyed sewing and crafting. Most of all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Koelig. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Buddy L. Duncan; children, Russell L. Duncan (Jen), Michael J. Duncan (Susan) and Sherry E. Hinton (Robert); sisters, Becky Hall (Larry) and Emily Goolday (Victor); brother, Ronald Wronowicz; grandchildren, Abbey Rhoads, Rachel Eskridge (Chris), Rebekah Fletcher (William), Samantha Peterson (Randy), David Swartwood (Stephanie), Matthew Hinton (Jess), Nicole Palmer (Matthew) and Eric Hinton (Kristen); great grandchildren, Vince, Victor, Vance, Wade, Shane, Ellie and Jace; and her Maltipoo, Bailey.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, February 4, 2019, at Berean Baptist Church, 2 Holcomb Lane, New Castle, DE 19720, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Grace’s name to the Berean Baptist Church at the address listed above or to Heartland Hospice, 256 Chapman Road, The Oxford Building Suite 102, Newark, DE 19702.

  • To my dear family: i am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Grace was a beautiful woman, great mother, grandmothet and wife. She will be missed by all of us that knew her. Heaven has gain a beautiful soul.

  • Very nice gentle person. Always sweet to me whenever I saw her or spoke to her. Loved to hear her tell stories when she was young. Nice to to know there is someone up there watching over us. She will be missed. RIP Aunt Grace.
