Grace E. Lewis

Grace E. “Shortie” Lewis, age 72, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.
Grace was born on October 31, 1939, daughter of the late Leon and Marguerite Lewis. A longtime member of the UAW, she was employed in the paint department of the Chrysler Corporation in Newark until her retirement.
In her leisure hours, she greatly enjoyed playing bingo on Wednesday nights at Cranston Heights Fire Department, as well as eating crabs with family and friends.
Grace was preceded in death by a son, Rodney W. Poore, brothers, Larry Lewis and Gerald Lewis, and sisters, Dorothy Denney and Viola Fleming. She is survived by her son, Dana V. Fleming and his wife, Susan; grandchildren, Hunter Fleming, Megan Smith and her husband, Gary, Patrick Roth, and Brandon Roth; great grandchildren, Maddie Smith, Laiken Smith, and Stephen Smith; many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Wayne Fleming.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Monday, December 19, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
