  • Fern I was lucky to have met both you and your vivacious husband late in life thanks to a DNA sample connecting me to the wonderful Buchler family. Guy’s true-to-life optimism is something I will always remember and try to emulate. My (our) condolences go out to you and your family.

  • We had the good fortune to be Guy and Fern’s neighbors at the Refuge for the past 20 years. We are heartbroken. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Fern, and your whole family. Guy was always looking out for us, our kids, and the house. He always had a milk bone for our Ivy-girl. Although we recently moved around the corner, the hardest part of moving was moving away from Guy and Fern; we couldn’t have asked for better neighbors. As with too many, Guy was taken too soon. We pray that his memories make you all smile and help to heal the pain of your loss. Rest in peace, Guy.

    Love Anne and Tony

  • I knew Guy from Cavaliers Country Club in Newark, Delaware. We played Junior golf there in the 1970’s. We called him “Buck” back then. He was a nice, big “guy” with a great sense of humor. I remember both of his parents passed away when he was about 16, so he had to grow up fast. I lost touch with him for decades but recently saw him and his wife at a restaurant in Fenwick Island, DE. I asked him if he was Guy Buchler. He looked at me and smiled and said “Lou Marconi”. It was as if no time had passed. I wish his family peace at this difficult time. He was a great person.

  • I had the honor to first meet Guy when he came in the business with Beck’s Beer in the early ’90’s. It didn’t take Guy long to make many friends in the business. He always had a smile on his face and stories to tell. The job we both did back in those days consisted of promoting our brands. Many would say that’s not work, just drinking. Guy was so good with making friends and developing relationships, that before long, many of us started drinking Beck’s just because it was Guy’s beer. Over the years we had some gaps in seeing each other, but when we were at a big trade show, or promos, we would run into each other and pick up where we left off, drinking a few Beck’s and Guy telling stories in his very unique way. When we recently moved to Bayside, I was happily surprised to see Guy at the golf course and it was like it had only been a few days. Once you are a friend of Guy, you are a friend for life. RIP Big Guy!

  • Dear Fern,
Words cannot express the sorrow I felt for you and your family when I heard this news. I recently IM’d you when seeing your profile picture last week on FB. Guy was my boss and coworker at NKS. Poor guy had his hands full with a little Italian like myself. I respected GUY so much and always looked up to you and him as a couple. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your kids at this most difficult time. He was one boss I will never forget and had so much respect for.

  • Pat,
My wife and I send our most heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Keeping you all in our prayers.

  • I had the pleasure to be part of the hiring team to bring Guy to Monster Energy in Feb. 2006. I remember his first day so well and how I immediately liked him. I enjoyed reading some other nicknames he had through the years, but to me he was simply Bushy and to him, I was Double D. Someone recently described Guy to me as “full of joy” and I thought that was so perfect. He was also full of kindness and caring, and was absolutely 100% genuine. It was a tremendous honor to call him both teammate and friend, and I am forever grateful for the impact he had on my life. Fern and family, I am so terribly sorry for your loss.
