Harold Taylor

March 18, 1931 - August 15, 2019

          Harold Taylor, age 88, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

          Born in Bluefield, WV, on March 18, 1931, he was a son of the late Oliver Jesse and Martha (Scott) Taylor.  Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951 – 1954 during the Korean War.  For many years he worked as a machine operator for Electric, Hose and Rubber Co.  Harold was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Marie (Blevins) Taylor; daughter, Judith Gayle Verucci; and 11 siblings.  Harold is survived by his daughter, Kay Estrada (Cal); grandchildren, James, Michael, Scott, Andrew, Andrea, Melissa and April; and great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Allison, Abigail, Adelyn and Adam.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Monday, August 26, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm.  Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

  • Uncle Harold although I haven’t seen you in many years, I have many fond memories of you from my childhood, especially playing baseball with you and my father when we would visit. My hope is you have found eternal peace with God in heaven. Rest In Peace.
