Heather Margaret Schnell, age 81, of Bear, DE, passed away on January 10, 2022.

Born in Paisley, Scotland, on April 11, 1940, she was a daughter of the late James Donald and Margaret (Kennedy) Anderson. Heather worked as a travel agent for Uniglobe Tour and Travel in Newark for over 40 years, prior to her retirement. Active in her community, she was a member of the Wilmington Manor Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, Heather loved to travel, especially going on cruises. More than anything, she loved time spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Heather is preceded in death by her husband, Barry T. Schnell; son, Gordon Walker; and siblings, Kenneth and Donald Anderson. She is survived by her son, Stephen A. Walker (Darris); step-children, Schuyler Schnell (Beth), Wesley Schnell (Gina), and Melissa Duggan (Tim); sister, Mae Aungst; many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and life-long friend of 56 years, Jackie Carlozzi and her children Pamela, Michelle, and Mark.

 A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will be held at 3 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance regardless of their vaccination status. Interment will be held privately.

  • You will be missed after 56 years of going thru good and bad times. You were included in everything my family did. We went thru marriages, divorces, living together, cruising and complaining to each other about everything. Most of all I will miss our telephone calls and shopping at Boscov’s. Save me a space in heaven.
