Helen A. Spears, age 76, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012.
Born in Galax,Virginia, on February 2, 1936, Helen was the daughter of the late Burton and Beulah Wilson. She was employed as a housekeeper at the Ramada Inn and retired after many years of dedicated service.
Helen was a gifted homemaker and an excellent cook, who delighted in caring for her family. In her leisure hours, she enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, and doing puzzles. Above all else, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Reese. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, James K. Spears; son, James K. Spears, Jr. of New Castle; brothers, Harry Wilson and Eddie Wilson; sister, Mae Lennard; and grandson, Carl Harper of Michigan.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home,1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
