Helen W. Scott, age 96, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018.

Born on March 25, 1922 in Wilmington, DE, she was a daughter of the late Augustus Weik and Frances (Przybylski) Weik.

For many years, Helen worked as an Avon representative where she enjoyed meeting and talking with her customers. Throughout her life, she worked at various department stores. Helen was always wise and witty and will always be remembered for her love of family and friends.

In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting multiple flea markets where she loved to buy and sell her wares. She looked forward to an evening out to play bingo. Loving the comfort of her home, she enjoyed reading, watching game shows and her favorite TV programs. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bunny Davis; brother, Albert Weik and sister, Mary Amadio. She leaves many fond memories to her children, Janet Mercer of Largo, FL, Jane Herman of Georgetown, DE and Midge Gray of Elkton, MD; niece, Alaine Cofrancisco; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday morning, August 1, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s memory to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804 or to a favorite charity.
