Helen Walker

December 14, 1952 - December 4, 2020

Helen Walker, age 67, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020.

Born on December 14, 1952 in Pedricktown, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Virginia (Ramey) Puglisi. Helen graduated from Woodstown High School in 1971. She worked for nearly two decades as a Disputes Analyst for Discover Card, then dedicated four years of service to Delaware River & Bay Authority’s customer service division. Helen was an upstanding member of the Tupperware sales team, and proud Meals on Wheels volunteer. She enjoyed spending her summers at Rehoboth Beach, dancing, and singing. Helen was an awesome baker and cook, her most prized dishes being her lasagna and jambalaya. When she wasn’t watching soap operas, she spent time with her adoring grandkids. Helen will be remembered as a caring individual who made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Most importantly, she will be remembered for her fighting spirit as she bravely battled cancer these last years.

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her brother, Sam Puglisi. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Lawrence Walker; son, Lawrence Walker II (Meghan); grandchildren, Lincoln Shane Walker and Wyatt Lawrence Walker; siblings, Rosemary Henson (Ed), Josie DeVries, Gloria Puglisi, Tommy Puglisi, Fred Puglisi (Tina), George Puglisi, and Joey Puglisi.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s memory to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, P.O. Box 32141, New York, NY 10087-2141.
