Irene T. Carmine
Mrs. Irene T. Carmine, age 81, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Carmine was born in Wilmington on June 23, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph Wyszynski and Rose Dobek Wyszynski. She made her career as an administrative professional, working in the DuPont Company’s Wilmington Shops, where she retired.
Mrs. Carmine devoted her life to caring for her family and was always at her happiest when spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved listening to country music and, in her later years, playing (and winning!) all sorts of challenging electronic games.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Roy D. “Ace” Carmine; sisters, Phyllis Hemphill and Dorothy Lattanzio; and brother, Stanley Wyszynski. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon R. Barbizzi (John) of New Castle; son, Kevin R. Carmine of New Castle; brothers, Joseph P. Wyszynski of Autryville, NC, and Walter J. Wyszynski (Louise) of Newport; sisters, Jeany A. Domanski (Eugene) of New Castle, and Gerri B. Jeffrey (Kenneth) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jason L. and Kristan R. Carmine; great grandchildren, Julian, Edwardo, Antonio, and Trinity Carmine; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, November 16th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
