Jalen G. Worthen

October 20, 1993 - January 6, 2018

Jalen Gabriel Worthen, born from the union of Hubert L.
Worthen, Jr. and Valerie A. Worthen on October 20, 1993
at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Center, New York.
Jalen attended St. Georges High School where he
obtained his Microsoft Business Certification. He
graduated from Dickenson High School. He studied
Business Administration at Wilmington University.
Jalen began his working career at Bank of America and
ended his career as an Assistant Manager at AT&T.
Jalen absolutely loved his time at AT&T.

Jalen had a strong love for his family. He adored his
Sister Jasmine and would do anything for her and let her
do anything to him. We could always count on Jalen’s
smile and reliability. Jalen’s accomplished passion
included flying Piper aircrafts. He was a self-taught
guitarist and pianist. Jalen would always say, I Love
My Family. And, he truly proved his unconditional love
for his family.

Jalen was our pride and joy and we are truly devastated
by his sudden death. Our family’s faith is strong and we
look forward to the promises that we know will be
fulfilled.

Jalen sadly leaves to mourn; his Parents Hubert L.
Worthen Jr. and Valerie A. Worthen, his Sister Jasmine

  • Jalen was a customer of mine. I owned a performance auto shop in Philadelphia. Definitely very humble and had a good head on his shoulders. Its very sad news, my prayer go out to the family. I just talked to him about a month ago saying to travel to Ghana. I’m devastated. He was like a younger brother to me.

  • Jalen and I met at St. Georges and have been best friends since. He was one of the greatest people I have ever been blessed to know. We were connected by our love for Jehovah. Jalen was always encouraging me throughout school and helped me to stay focused on spiritual matters. He was always there for me, we relied on each other for support. We lost contact for a few years and we found one another after years of searching. We always picked up right where we left off. The Herbert’s did an amazing job raising a gentleman. I pray for Jalen’s love ones every day. May Jehovah give you the strength you need to carry on. I know I need it.

  • Dear Worthen family,

I was deeply saddened when I returned to the AT&T store asked for Jalen because he’d provided such great service in Oct 2017 and was informed of his death. I share in your sorrow, I saw the love and greatness God placed in Jalen. I told him before I left the store in 2017 to continue on the great path he was on.

I want you to know that Jalen was/is a gift from God that touched so any people in a positive way and that was God’s perfect will. He touched us with his smile, his way to serve others and his genuine, upbeat attitude.

I pray God strengthens you daily and give you peace in knowing you son served so many and we will not forget that.

    In love and prayers.
    Yvonne Munyan and family
