James A. Hadley, Sr.

May 19, 1930 - February 8, 2018

James A. Hadley, Sr., age 87, of Cochranville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018.

Born in Wilksboro, NC on May 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Alvis Manley (Jack) and Lucy R. (Vannoy) Hadley. James proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict. A plumber by trade, he was the proud owner of Hadley Plumbing and Heating in Newark, DE for 31 years. He also worked for W.L. Gore as the maintenance leader for 11 years.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, James A. Hadley, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Christy Carroll of Cochranville, PA and Lisa Cilento of Port Deposit, MD; and 6 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held privately.

  • Christie I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I know how much you love even I was so glad when you were able to take him to be at your place. He was like a father to me. I love him dearly. I love to bake or cook for him. Always taken down food to him so we can enjoy together sometimes. but I will miss him so much. I enjoy talking to him and visiting. so I love you guys very much too.
