James Danner, Sr.

James Danner, Sr., age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016.
Born on March 5, 1941, he was a son of the late Ralph and Connie (Nabb) Danner. James worked for Chrysler as a shop steward, retiring after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and had a special place in his heart for all animals. A talented musician, James was a member of the country music band Country Gold. Fondly known as the Mayor of Chelsea, he will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Dolores M. (Robbins) Danner, who passed away in 2012 and son, James Danner, Jr. He is survived by his son, Ronnie Danner (Patty); brothers, Harry Truman Danner (Judy) and Junior Danner; sister, Louise; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am to 12 Noon on Monday morning, November 14, 2016 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
