James Franklin “Jim” Peterson

December 28, 1946 - July 16, 2018

James Franklin “Jim” Peterson, age 71, of Delaware City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 16, 2018.

Born in Elkton, MD on December 28, 1946, he was a son of the late Gale Barker and Grace (Dixon) Peterson. Jim dedicated his career with Chrysler and retired after 37 years of service. Following retirement from Chrysler, he went to work for DelDot for the next 7 years.

Jim was a member of the High Noon Lodge No. 38 A.F. & A.M in Newport. He also had a passion for photography. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diane Marie (Tereszcuk) Peterson; daughter, Karen Marie Phillips (Kennard); son, James A. Peterson; brother, Gary Peterson (Donna); sister, Sharon Sutton; and grandchildren, Alexandria Peterson, Elik Peterson and Erika Phillips.

All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
