James (Jimmy) P. Roberts

James (Jimmy) P. Roberts entered into rest on 7 September 2022.

Jimmy was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Clyde and Catherine (Kitty) Roberts on 18 January 1959. He was raised in Port Penn where he developed a love of fishing and all things nautical. He worked in construction early in his life and eventually went on to become a project manager at Chase bank where he spent several years. Jimmy moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in the early 2000s – fell in love with his new state, got certified in IT, and began working technical support at PSCU in Florida. He enjoyed paddleboarding, boating, fishing and especially being with his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Kitty Roberts; his brothers: Clyde, David, Thomas (Tucker); and his sister: Catherine. He did not have any children but was loved and cherished by his nephews and nieces. After his father died in 2018 he struggled maintaining important friendships in his life, and so lost contact with the friends he was closest to. He was working on making amends with those he’d known he owed, but he ran out of time. To the people he did not have a chance to patch things up with, hopefully you know and feel in your hearts he intended to. He would also want it known he is officially to be removed from the voting registry.

A grave side memorial is planned for 3pm on 28 Oct 2022 at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Port Penn.
