James Lee "Jimmy" Powers - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

James Lee “Jimmy” Powers

June 25, 1960 - March 2, 2023

James Lee “Jimmy” Powers, age 62, of New Castle, DE, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Born in Delaware, he lived most of his life in Arizona. Jimmy was the son of Ruth (Scott) Toner and George Powers, Jr. He made his career as a tree trimmer. The taller the tree, the better.

Jimmy was loved by his family and his many friends. He was never known to meet a stranger. Jimmy lived his life as an adventurer and the people he met along the way became his family. He found joy in playing his guitar and riding motorcycles. Jimmy had no fear and lived his life with that same vigor. His family is grateful that he received Jesus Christ as his lord and savior and we know that they will meet again.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his step-mother, Catherine Powers; sisters, Elizabeth Spencer (Richard), Patricia Yowell (Ronnie), Penny Blanch (Dan), and Amanda Powers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jimmy’s memory may be made to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711 or by clicking here.
