James Todd Holland - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

James Todd Holland

Born: 12/27/1958
Died: 5/29/2013

Mr. James Todd Holland, age 54, of New Castle, DE, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
Mr. Holland was born in North East, MD, on December 27, 1958, and attended Havre de Grace High School. A talented automobile mechanic, he could skillfully fix any car of any type before an injury halted his career, but his favorites always remained the classic Chevrolets. In his leisure hours, he enjoyed building his own remote-controlled miniature boats and cars, fishing, playing his guitar, and, in earlier years, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Mr. Holland was an avid sports fan throughout his life and looked forward to cheering each season for the Dallas Cowboys. He also greatly enjoyed NASCAR racing, particularly the late, legendary driver Dale Earnhardt.
A gifted conversationalist, Mr. Holland was admired by all who knew him (and even strangers!) for his wit, charm, and intelligence. Most of all, he will be remembered as a devoted and attentive family man; his happiest times were always those spent in the company of his wife and daughters, all of whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Marie G. Woerner Holland; daughters, Ashley M. Holland and fiancé Jason Frieze of New Castle, DE, and Amber L. Holland and fiancé Chad Johnson of New Castle, DE; mother, Juna L. Puckett Holland of North East, MD; and brother, Craig Thompson and wife Pim of North East, MD. He was preceded in death by his father, Burman I. Holland.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
