Janet Parke Dallago

Born: 3/24/1943
Died: 8/18/2012

Mrs. Janet Parke Dallago, age 69, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012.
Born in Ayer, MA, on March 24, 1943, Janet was the daughter of the late Thaddeus Wheatley Parke, Jr. and Cecilia Regina Maillioux Parke. She attended the University of Delaware and made her professional career with the former Wilmington Trust, assisting in the opening of the west Newark office and later working as the head teller at the Hockessin branch for many years until her retirement.
A gracious, kind, and intelligent woman of excellent taste, Janet delighted in the finer things in life. She did not compromise on quality in any endeavor and was admired by family and friends alike for always being true to herself. Much-loved for the unique and accomplished way she completed every challenge, she particularly adored gardening for which she had a special gift. She found true inspiration in the natural world and was at her happiest when exploring its mysteries. During her travels to all 48 contiguous states, she was honored to have witnessed firsthand the beauties of every national park.
Janet enjoyed the company of her many good friends in her local garden, crafters, and bridge clubs, as well as the affectionately named “glutton club.” Of particular delight to her friends and her many business associates in the community was her admittedly wicked sense of humor. Her uncompromising spirit will be deeply missed by the many people who loved and respected her.
She is survived by her best friend of 30 years, her beloved husband, Francis J. “Fritz” Dallago, Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Smith-Oliver; brother-in-law, Michael Sprague; and grandchildren, Cyrus, Sydney, and Tobias. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Sprague.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Janet may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702 B Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
