Mrs. Jean C. Mason, age 69, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013.
Born in Union City, NJ, on September 28, 1943, Mrs. Mason was the daughter of the late William Schack and Lillian Lipman Schack. For 30 years, she made her career as an antiques dealer and was well-loved in the community. She had exquisite taste and an eye for quality.
Her favorite hobbies including cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends, as well as playing bingo. She also especially enjoyed traveling with her husband and her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Edwin T. Mason; children, Daniel Dukes (Melanie Adams) of Norman, OK, Maria Sapp (Jim) of Magnolia, Eddie Mason of Wilmington, and Pamela Mason of Wilmington; brothers, William Schack of Pollocksville, NC, and George Schack of Newark; and grandchildren, Joshua, Brittany, Jaylyn, Courtney, and Jamie.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am Interment will follow in White Clay Creek Cemetery, 15 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark.
