Joan Barich

Mrs. Joan Barich, age 66, of Delaware City, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the Heartland Hospice House with her family present.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on June 7, 1945, Joan was the daughter of the late Lewis Barich and Helen Dyer Barich. She was a longtime resident of both Delaware City and Old New Castle. Joan greatly enjoyed interacting with the many customers she served while working at Arner’s Restaurant in New Castle. In her spare time, she enjoyed classic movies, visiting Delaware Park and walking through Delaware City. Above all else, Joan was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert T. Morris. Joan is survived by her daughter, Robin DiMeglio and son-in-law, David DiMeglio, of Newark; sisters, Barbara Wade of New Castle, Jeanne Schell of NY, Louise Emmott of TN, and Kathryn Barich of FL; grandchildren, Lauren and Aiden; and her second husband, Ronnie Stubbs.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
