Joan M. Womer, age 60, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Mrs. Womer was born in Wilmington on May 9, 1951, daughter of the late James D. White and Mary Ann Francks White. A talented homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for her beloved family and especially delighted in the company of her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Womer, sister, Cindy A. Hetzell, and grandson, William Blunt, Jr. She is survived by her children, Kevin M. White of New Castle, James W. Womer, Jr. (Diane) of Ocala, FL, Matthew J. Womer of New Castle, and Trisha A. Blunt (William) of Newark; brother, James S. White of Elkton, MD; sister, Mary Jane Alley of New Castle; 2 granddaughters and 5 grandsons.
A funeral service will be held at 9 am on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 8 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
