Joanne E. Gott, age 80, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Katie (Gargas) Cook. Joanne dedicated her life to her family as a talented homemaker. Deep in her faith, she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church as well as the sodality. In her spare time, Joanne enjoyed painting and was an excellent cook. She had a passion for animals and loved them all. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and cherished time spent with them.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Gott, Sr.; and sons, John Gott and Michael Gott. She is survived by her children, Edward Gott (Karrie) and George W. Gott, Jr. (Lisa); brother, Edward Cook; and grandchildren, Amber Gott, Ashley Gott and Tyler Gott.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Friday, October 16, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance.
