Johanna “Joan” McGlensey

          Johanna “Joan” McGlensey, age 95, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, surrounded by her family.

          Born in Camden, NJ on May 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Petronella (Bizulis) Pivoras.  Joan dedicated her life to her family as a talented and loving homemaker.

          Joan enjoyed cake decorating and her greatest pleasure was feeding her loved ones.  She enjoyed watching bird, quilting and traveling.  Joan could always be found on the dance floor with a smile on her face.  Dedicated to her faith, she was a member of Holy Family R.C. Church.   Joan found her most joy during time spent with her family.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis McGlensey.  Joan is survived by her daughters, Karen Schuele (Paul) of Newark, DE and Lorraine Moran (John) of Camden, NJ; grandchildren, John Moran, Eric Schuele and Dawn Baker; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter. 

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow in New St. Mary Cemetery, 515 W Browning Rd, Bellmawr, NJ.
