John A. King, age 90, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Born in Evergreen, AL, on November 2, 1931, he was a son of the late John and Roena (Maldon) King. John retired from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he worked for many dedicated years in the environmental services department.

Extremely strong in his faith, John was a devout Christian. He had a green thumb and was infamous for working in his garden. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching baseball. Above of all, instilling family values and spending time with his family is what meant the most to him.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara King of Middletown, DE; children, Craig A. King of Yonker, NY, Larry D. King (Leslie) of Middletown, DE, and Gail L. King of Middletown, DE; siblings, Mary Harrison of Greensboro, NC, Emma Hamilton of Somerset, NJ, Lillie Penn of Somerset, NJ, Joe King of New Brunswick, NJ, and Cecil King of New Brunswick, NJ; grandchildren, Christina King of Houston, TX, Craig D. King of New Brunswick, NJ, and Shayne Johnson of Palm Bay, FL; and great-grandchildren, Allen Bailey III, Christian King, and Jesslyn King.

All services will be held privately.
