John Anthony Dellaquila

October 19, 1946 - June 5, 2019

          John Anthony Dellaquila, age 72, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Christiana Hospital.

          Born in Chester, PA on October 19, 1946, he was the son of the late Anthony Vincent and Eva Mae (Culbert) Dellaquila.  John graduated from Chester High School in 1964 and attended Del Tech to study computer science.  He and his wife owned and operated Del’s Philadelphia Steaks & Hoagies for 8 years, starting in 1983.  The business is still in operation today.  He was a loving and devoted husband and best friend to his wife, who he always loved to shop for.

          John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally Ann (Drane) Dellaquila; sister, Toni Ann Walker; and many dear nieces, nephews and dear friends.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at St. Margaret of Scotland R.C. Church, 2431 Frazer Rd, Newark, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am.  Interment will be held privately.
