John Joseph “Hollywood” Hargan, Sr.

John Joseph “Hollywood” Hargan, Sr., age 64, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on December 9, 1956, he was a son of Jacqueline M. (Jeandell) Hargan and the late Howard E. “Biggie” Hargan. Hollywood retired from Chrysler as an automaker.
He loved music, cars, and riding his Harley Davidson. Hollywood loved being around the water, especially the beach. He enjoyed fishing at White Clay Creek, and would go crabbing anywhere he could drop a pot. He was excellent in the kitchen, and enjoyed cooking for his large family.
In addition to his father, Hollywood was preceded in death by his sons, John J. Hargan, Jr. and Michael W. Prang; and brother, William N. Hargan. He is survived by his daughter, Kira A. Wood (James); grandchildren, Keirsten M. Hargan, Nick Blankenship, John J. Hargan III, Kaidence A. Wood, Jaelyn M. Wood, and Kinzley G. Wood; great-granddaughter, Leila Hargan; siblings, Howard E. Hargan (Patty), Anthony M. Hargan, Kenneth R. Hargan, Steven R. Hargan, and Donna M. Zink (Dennis); fiancé, Sandra K. O’Dell; step-daughters, Angela D. Zito and Jessica L. Rivera; 8 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 pm until 4 pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 4 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will be held privately.
