John Kenneth “Jack” Wilson

August 3, 1947 - December 30, 2019

          John Kenneth “Jack” Wilson, age 72, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

          Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 3, 1947, he was a son of the late William O. and Laura E. (Snell) Wilson.  Jack worked in retail his entire life, making many friends.  He was a member of New Castle Baptist Church in New Castle, where he drove the church bus on Sundays.  Jack had many children who always called him “Pop Pop Chicken.”  Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.

          In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Edward Wilson.  He is survived by wife of 49 years, Laura Darlene (Mutter) Wilson; children, Brian R. Wilson (Tracy) and Jamie Wilson, both of Wilmington; siblings, William Wilson, Donald Wilson (Diane), June Bradley (Tim) and Kenneth Wilson (Sally Ann); grandchildren, Brandi-Ann, Tyler and Gage Wilson, all of Wilmington; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm until 1 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 1 pm.  Interment will be held privately.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.

You now are with god and living life of breathing normally again.. Please know that I love you n I will miss you something fierce.. Just know that you were a loving father and grandfather to your grandson gage.. Gage will miss you and that he loves you n you were his superhero.. Please know that I’m not mad at you for leaving, I am greatful that you are free of being able to breathe again n not struggle to live your daily life here on earth.. God was ready for you to come home to him so that you did not have to struggle no more… Rest easy pop I love you and I will miss you till the day we meet again… Now I know I will not struggle again knowing that you are my angel in heaven…
