John R. Wilson

John R. Wilson, age 82, of Newark, DE passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.
John was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 1, 1930, and was the son of Robert L. Wilson and Grace Lister Wilson. He was employed as a photographer with DuPont and retired after 40 years of service.
In his youth, John excelled at sports, especially football and baseball. He later shared his love of baseball by coaching his son’s team. John was an avid outdoorsman, who greatly enjoyed fishing, and was a member of the Newark Anglers Association (Sunset Lake). He possessed a large and unique hat collection which he liked adding to. John was a longtime member of Holy Family parish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry James Wilson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy E. Miklasiewiez Wilson; son, Michael K. Wilson, and wife, Loretta of Middletown, DE; daughter, Eileen Bushnell, and husband, Tim of Oxford, PA; and brother, Gerald L. Wilson, and wife, Ann of Elsmere, DE.
Friends may call from 4 pm until 6 pm on Sunday, August 5, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Monday, August 6, 2012, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
