John Richard Paiper
October 29, 1940 - May 20, 2021
John Richard Paiper, age 80, of Lewes, DE and formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
Born in Baltimore, MD, on October 29, 1940, Richard honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and then went on to own and operate Lenape Builders, Inc. for 38 years until his retirement in 2016. He was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed reading, gardening, and eating crabs with friends and family in his spare time.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Louise (Breeding) Paiper; children, Brenda Alexander, Lorrie Yaletchko, Edward Brown, and William Brown; his little man Colton and a host of additional grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Delaware City Fire Company, 815 5th Street, Delaware City, DE, followed by a memorial service at 12 pm. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
