John Wesley Williams, Jr.

John Wesley Williams, Jr., age 60, of Townsend, DE, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, December 27, 2019.
Born in Chester, PA on February 4, 1959, he was the son of John W. Williams, Jr. and the late Marlene M. (Brown) Williams. John proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps for 6 years.
He was employed by Boeing as a flight engineer for the past 33 years, allowing him to travel the world, but he was always made time for his family. John enjoyed the outdoors, loved cooking, had great taste in music and everyone knew how much he loved his truck. Most of all, he was a kind and compassionate man who enjoyed helping others. A man who would do anything and everything for his family, John was a devoted husband, loving father and had the most caring heart for his 3 granddaughters, who he loved dearly. He will be remembered as a man of extremes, always giving his best, and highly intelligent.
In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his son, John W. Williams, IV. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Norma Jean (O’Brien) Williams; daughters, Jacquelynn M. Johnson (Matthew), Jamie K. Malum (Corey), and Jessica O’Brien; 2 sisters; granddaughters, Lillian G. Williams and Savanna M. and Sharlette M. Johnson; and his faithful great dane, CeCe.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE, followed by a funeral service at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
