Josephine M. (Trotta) Morales, age 80, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Morales was born in Chester, PA on December 7, 1935, and was a daughter of the late Giuseppe Joseph and Rose Mary (Cella) Trotta. In her earlier years, she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone before settling down to raise her family.

A devout Catholic, Mrs. Morales was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was a gifted poet whose writings were often published in the church bulletins and was a voracious reader. Mrs. Morales was a talented photographer and she spent many happy hours capturing her family’s memories on film. An avid gardener, she enjoyed being outdoors tending to her flowers and vegetables. Above all else, Mrs. Morales adored being a mother and grandmother. She was a true matriarch whose legacy of love and devotion will live on forever.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morales was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Pete Morales. She is survived by her children, Peter Morales, Martin Morales, Paul Morales (Colleen), Rose O’Neill (Charles), Victoria Salvadori (Guy, Sr.) and Valentina Morales; sisters, Marianne DiPaulo (Nicholas), Filomena Voshell (John) and Theresa DiCampli (the late Paul); grandchildren, Guy, Jr., Gina, Amanda, Krista, Megan, Vincent, Savannah, Matthew, William, Paul Joseph, Jr. and Zachary; great grandsons, Guy III and Isaiah; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of both Manor Care North and Heartland Hospice for all of the exceptional love, care and support that they provided.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Monday morning, May 23, 2016, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, DE.
