Joyce Lee Daugherty

Joyce Lee Daugherty, age 74, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on September 23, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Alan Yonker and Helen Louise (Savery) Daugherty. Joyce graduated from John Dickinson High School. Following graduation, she attended Goldey-Beacom College then made her 28-year career with the DuPont company. Joyce enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, and crabbing. She also enjoyed reading in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her companion of 30 years, Sheridan Barry. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Iaquinto (Tony); granddaughters, Taylor Dietrich (Nate) and Emma Iaquinto; and step-grandchildren, Olivia Iaquinto and Christopher Iaquinto.
A cryptside service for family and friends will be held at 12 pm on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn Road, Port Penn, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the American Lung Association, Donation Processing Center, PO Box 11039, Lewiston, ME 04243.

David and I are heartbroken with the loss of Joyce. We met her and Barry over 10 years ago at Kelly’s in Port Penn and our Tuesdays have been spent with them ever since. Until the loss of Barry and Covid. Our lives have been blessed with their friendship and kindness. They are definitely missed, and our lives have been changed by them not being in it. I’m sure Joyce is smiling again, being with Barry. Rest in peace my dear friend.
