Judith Franklin Moyer

Mrs. Judith Franklin Moyer (“Judy”), age 72, of Newark, DE, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
Mrs. Moyer was born in Newport, VT, on September 26, 1939, daughter of the late Louis and Shirley Rivard. At age 25 she moved to Delaware and, in 1970, moved to Newark where she worked at the Deer Park Tavern for 30 years. From 2001 until the present, she was employed at VFW Post 475, where she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending Saturday mornings going to yard sales. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Gram.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Moyer, and brother, Louis Rivard, Jr. She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Robert Wesselman; brothers, Robert Rivard (Mary) and Richard Rivard (Sherry); sister, Rosalie Rushlow (Edward) of VT; 5 children, Kenneth Davis (Gina) and Timothy Davis of VT, Scott Davis (Suzanne), Randall Franklin, and Geoffrey Franklin (Jessica) of DE; grandchildren, Amanda of NH, Krystal and Celine of VT, and Kristina, Kayla, Ethan, Andrew and Nathan of DE; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Friday, April 13, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, followed by a celebration of her life at VFW Post 475. She will be laid to rest at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, and part of her ashes put into Lake Memphremagog in Newport, VT.
