Judith G. Rossiter
Ms. Judith G. Rossiter, age 78, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012.
Ms. Rossiter was born in Wilmington on September 10, 1934, daughter of the late Harry A. Rossiter and IdaBell Thompson Rossiter. A 1952 graduate of William Penn High School, she received her bachelor’s degree from King’s College in 1956 and would later earn her master’s degree from the University of Delaware. She was a dedicated English teacher throughout her career, working in both the Brandywine and Christina School Districts before her retirement. A talented realtor as well, Ms. Rossiter was employed in the Hockessin office of Patterson-Schwartz for many years. As a community leader, she generously shared her academic and business expertise by serving on a variety of civic, professional, and non-profit governing boards.
A longtime season pass holder, Ms. Rossiter delighted in touring Longwood Gardens year-round. She was also an avid and knowledgeable world traveler and enjoyed attending local theater productions.
She is survived by her siblings, Gordon T. Rossiter (Pat) of Millsboro, Maxine L. Rossiter of New Castle, Harry A. Rossiter (Barbara) of Newark, and Penny Coyle of North Carolina; eleven nieces and nephews; fourteen great nieces and nephews; and four great great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, October 26th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
