Mrs. Karen E. Moger Troiani, age 42, of New Castle, DE, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 7, 2013.
Karen was born in Fitchburg, MA, on October 12, 1970, and was a graduate of Ashland (OH) High School. She would later attend Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, where she studied early childhood education. An administrative assistant by profession and a notary, she made her career with Sallie Mae, Inc. in Newark, DE. Favorite pastimes included cheering for her son, Luke, at all his games, spending time with her children, going to the beach, and shopping. She loved dragonflies and jewelry.
Karen truly loved and cared for people and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She had a beautiful voice and was honored to sing at all of her siblings’ weddings. With her infectious smile and sunny, happy personality, she made lasting friends wherever she went. Her beloved family was her most important treasure and she delighted in their joyful company. She will be deeply and sadly missed by the many people who loved her.
She is survived by her children, Lucas D. Hernandez of New Castle, DE, and Abby L. Troiani of Smyrna, DE; mother, Susan C. Darby Moger of Charlotte, NC; siblings, Cheryl A. Russell (John) of Charlotte, NC, Keith W. Moger (Shannon) of Dover, DE, Jeanne M. Kitchens (Joe) of Birmingham, AL, and Richard P. Moger (Melissa) of Ashland, OH; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard H. Moger.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 12th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 13th, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave. and DuPont Rd., Wilmington, DE.
