Karen M. Heine

Karen M. Heine, age 65, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 4, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Janice (Turner) Derrick, Jr. Karen dedicated her career to caring for others as psychology assistant in the healthcare field for Christiana Care.

She was a woman who loved to sew and took pride in the things she made. Spending time with her family was important to her, and she enjoyed being together for simple moments and everyday activities. Karen also adored her dogs and cared for them deeply. Her life was centered around the people and pets she loved most.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Jessica Heine; grandson, Calvin Reynolds; sister, Pam Kwiatkowski (Bill); along with a niece and nephew.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
