Katherine M. Shea, age 74, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 26, 2025.
Born in Wilmington, DE on May 15, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Loretta (Klosowski) Milerski. Katherine was a graduate of Corpus Cristi High School with the class of 1969. She made her career at Wilmington Trust as a client sales representative for 21 years. Katherine then began working as secretary at the Delaware School for the Deaf where she spent 2 years before going to the University of Delaware, ELI as an administrative assistant for 6 years.
Katherine loved endless trips to the beach and any reason to go shopping. She always looked forward to large family gatherings and parties. Katherine enjoyed helping family and friends prepare their taxes.
Katherine is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Carey M. Shea; daughters, Stacy L. (Shea) Silva and Lauren M. Shea; grandchildren, Alaina Solazzo, Jacob Silva, Vincenzo Solazzo, and Samantha Silva; sister, Jeanette Filiaggi; six nieces; and countless cousins.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. Services and interment will be held privately.
