L. Earl Taylor

Mr. L. Earl Taylor, age 87, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011.
Born in Bridgeton, NC, on March 27, 1924, Mr. Taylor was the son of the late William Taylor and Olier Woolard Taylor. He worked in construction throughout his career and had been a professional fencing installer for many years. Following his retirement, he accepted a position in private security.
A US Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Taylor was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his leisure hours, he greatly enjoyed woodworking and carving. A devoted family man throughout his life, he especially delighted in spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Ross Taylor, in 1972, and his second wife, Audrey Baine Taylor, in 1974. He is survived by his children, William Thomas Taylor of Newark, Jeannette F. Burns (Dwayne) of Townsend, and Judy Lee Taylor (Rob Grieb) of Smyrna; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 9, 2011, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
