Larry L. Eisenhauer - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Larry L. Eisenhauer

Born: 4/27/1945
Died: 6/10/2013

Mr. Larry Lewis “Ike” Eisenhauer, age 68, of Monterey Farms in New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Eisenhauer was born in Wilmington Hospital on April 27, 1945, son of the late Sterling L. Eisenhauer and Anna Cheslock Eisenhauer. He graduated from De La Warr High School, all the while working for Eisenhauer Carpet, the business his father started when he was young. He went on to work for A & P in Ogletown, serve in Vietnam, and return to the food chain where he stayed until his retirement. He also maintained his own business, Eisenhauer Carpets, Inc., which became his full-time employment. With the help of his two wonderful sons, his business flourished and his legacy will be left to them. We will forever in our hearts see him in his shiny, red convertible, top down, driving to jobs sites to measure.
Mr. Eisenhauer was a talented bowler throughout his life and bowled with the Friday Night League at Pleasant Hill Lanes in Newport. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
His love for his family was and will be deep in our hearts forever. His legacy as a hard-working man was never to give up, only to do more. Retirement from his business was never an option. He lived to love his family and to build his business–and he succeeded. No job too big, no job too small, he did it all.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Ronnie Lee Dutton Eisenhauer; his beloved children, Michelle E. Spencer (Jay) of Smyrna, Larry S. Eisenhauer of New Castle, Dawn R. Eisenhauer Holcomb of Newark, and Shawn M. Eisenhauer (Jennifer) of Middletown; and siblings, Rose Callahan of New Castle, Eleanor Knorr (Bill) of Odessa, Anne Brown of Newark, and Nancy Camponelli (Paul) of Bear. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, c/o Christiana Care, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.
