October 18, 1941 - February 6, 2026
Lawrence A. “Larry” Pritchard, age 84, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Born in Bronx, NY, on October 18, 1941, he was a son of the late Lawrence W. and Adele M. (Selzer) Pritchard. Larry made his career as an accountant at AIG for over 30 years until his retirement.
Larry enjoyed dedicating his free time to his community. He spent 5 years as a volunteer fireman in Long Island, coached for the Newark National Little League, and created a children’s bowling program. Larry was also the president of the Hillside Heights Tanglewood Pilgrim Gardens Association for 5 years. His skills and leadership landed him a spot on the steering committee and board of directors during the construction of the community, Traditions at Christiana. Deep in his faith, Larry was a lector at Holy Angels R.C. Church and eucharistic minister for Holy Family R.C. Church, where he also played guitar for the folk masses. In addition to the guitar, he played the accordion. Larry loved racing remote cars and playing pool.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Ann (Eska) Pritchard; children, Kenneth Pritchard (Jennifer), Scott C. Pritchard (Shyril), Robert L. Pritchard, Thomas E. Pritchard (Stephanie), and Dawn P. Swarter (Stephen); grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Joseph, Kyle, Sanka, Zach, Sarah, Kory, Madelyn, and Sienna; and great-grandchildren, Harmony and Kai.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Entombment will be held privately in All Saints Cemetery.

Rob and family. Words can’t express the heartbreak we have for you with the loss of your father. There’s something about losing a parent that stands out above other family members like grandparents aunts/uncles etc but to lose a parent just hits harder. As a Christian my words for you are believe in Christ and know that this isn’t the end of your father but the beginning of FOREVER! As a believer we will be with our loved ones again when our time comes and this time we’ll be together forever. 100 years on this earth is but a blink of an eye compared to eternity. Let us know if you need anything buddy. We’re here for you. 🙏🏻 💔 😇

I met Larry when I first moved to Traditions at Christiana. I served with him on the HOA board for many years. Larry was the director of communications for our community and always kept residents well informed. Larry always had a quiet smile and warm greeting anytime you saw him. He was a good neighbor and a wonderful person. May he rest in peace.

PAT AND FAMILY SO SORRY TO HEAR OF LARRY ‘ S PASSING. I HAVE KNOWN BOTH LARRY AND PAT FROM HOLY ANGELS CHURCH I LOVED THE GUITAR MUSIC HE PLAYED AT THE CHILDREN MASSES. YEARS LATER WAS BLESSED TO HAVE HIM FOR A NEIGHBOR. HE GAVE ME HELPFUL ADVICE WHEN HE WAS ON THE BOARD AT TRADISIONS . BUT I WILL NEVER FORGET HIS KINDNESS WHEN COVIE HIT I NEEDED TO GET AN IMPORTANT BLOOD TEST AND YOU HAD TO HAVE AN APPOINMENT MADE FIRST BUT I COULDNT GET INTO MY COMPUTOR TO WORK AND I HAD TO STAY HOME BY MYSELF DUE TO MY HEALTH. OUR DRIVEWAYS HAD NOT BEEN CLEARED AND LARRY WHEN HE HEARD MY PROBLEM WALKED THRU THE SNOW AND ICE DRIVEWAY ON HIS KANE TO SET UP MY APPOINMENT / I WAS VERY APPRECATE AND I WORRIED HE MAY FALL GOING BACK OVER THE SNOW AND ICE DRIVEWAY BUT HE JUST SMILED AND WALKED BACK HOME. NEVER FORGET HIS KINDNESS. A VERY GOOD MAN. SINCERELY JEAN WITTROCK
