Dr. Lawrence H. Cohen, age 61, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012.
Born in Levittown, NY, on November 2, 1950, Dr. Cohen was the son of the late Israel Cohen and Rosalind Beskin Cohen. He earned his Ph.D. in psychology from Florida State University and, in 1979, accepted a position as a professor of psychology with the University of Delaware.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Rita Yopp Cohen; son, Matthew L. Cohen and wife, Megan, of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Jessica M. Cohen of Newark, DE; and brother, Harmon Cohen and wife, Meryl, of Southampton, NY.
A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 5 pm.
