Linda Ann Nichols, age 71, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Born in Allentown, PA on February 23, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Robert Francis and Gloria Hope (Miller) Stieska. Linda was a graduate of Newark High School, class of 1967. Following graduation, she attended University of Delaware where she earned her Associates degree in Secretarial Studies. For over 30 years, Linda worked in banking, retiring from Bank of America in 2015.

Linda enjoyed going to the beach, especially with her granddaughters. She loved her animals, Denver and Justice Marie, and all dogs. Linda was an avid local sports fan, especially the U of D Blue Hens. She will be dearly missed by her family and will always be remembered as a very independent woman.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Tammy Anton (Carl) and Chrissy Miller (Bradley); siblings, Deborah Naylor and Robert E. Stieska; 6 granddaughters; and 1 great granddaughter.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899, or the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

  • She was a wonderful person, so full of light. Loved her family dearly as well as her work family. She will definately be missed. Love you Linda!

  • We were really sad to hear of Linda’s passing. We so enjoyed being members along with her at Berean Baptist Church in New Castle, DE. We’ll miss the fellowship we had with her there. One thing for sure is that she trusted the Lord as her Savior and we will see her again in Heaven. We are keeping Linda’s family in our prayers. We know this is not easy for you.

    She was my stepmother in my much younger years. Always hugs and kisses for me even though I was a step. Seemed to be a happy person always smiling and smelling good.
    I remember that she was an avid Avon representative. Spending time at thier house in Middletown riding my dirt bike and playing with Tammy.
    Linda was always very nice to me.
