Linda Ellen Lucas, age 76, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE on September 1, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Morris and Edna Bell (Argo) Crockett.  Linda attended Christiana High School in 1967.  She loved to sew and was an avid flower and vegetable gardener.  She enjoyed canning and would lovingly prepare jars of homemade creations.  Most of all, Linda loved and cherished her family.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jim” Cecil Lucas; brother, James A. Crockett; and sisters, Thelma M. Cangello, and Carolyn J. Cross. She is survived by her children, Richard Parker (Emmyliz), and Mindy Gill; grandchildren, Richard, Myah, Lauren, Eddie, and Hunter; great-granddaughter, Barbie; brothers, David S. Crockett, Charles B. Crockett, and Norman “Douglas” Crockett (Joanne); sister, Lois K. Nesci (Fran); and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm until 1 pm on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Head of Christiana Church Cemetery, 1100 Church Road, Newark, DE.

I will always cherish the memories of canning in the kitchen every summer with my aunts. While words will not ease the pain we are all feeling, I hope we can find comfort in each other and in the love she left behind.
